भारतीय दण्ड संहिता में -

महाराज्यपाल की अनुमति - 6 अक्टूबर, 1860

प्रवृत्त (Come into enforce) - 01 जनवरी, 1862

महत्वपूर्ण संशोधन 2019 - 

इस अधिनियम में जम्मू और कश्मीर पुर्नगठन अधिनियम, 2019 की धारा 95 एवं अनुसूची-5 (तालिका 01, अनुक्रमांक 48) के द्वारा भारतीय दण्ड संहिता, 1860 की धारा 01 - ‘संहिता का नाम और उसके प्रवर्तन का विस्तार’ में से ‘‘जम्मू-कश्मीर राज्य के सिवाय (Except the State of Jammu and Kashmir) को विलोपित कर दिया गया है। और अब यह 31अक्टूबर 2019 से सम्पूर्ण भारत पर लागू होगी।
